Saturday 27 December Costa Brindley Place

Saturday 6 of us set out on a cold and windy morning for a short ride to the City Centre. Our first destination the Exchange was closed so we fell back to our usual Costa at Brindley Place. Cleared the cobwebs and lethargy after Christmas feasting. Will not attach map as our route was the tried and tested into Birmingham via the canal and return on the 'Blue' route.

Waseley Country Park

7 riders out on a cold and misty start but it did brighten up by the time we got to the cafe.   Returning via Bartley Green Reservoir. The route is here

The Custard Factory

Despite the gentle rain and the poor weather forecast 3 of us decided to take a short ride to the Custard Factory in Digbeth. Mathew led a group of 3 through Moseley and Sparkbrook to the café. The route is attached but apologies to Mathew if certain sections through Sparkbrook are a little astray as constant changing one way systems were hard to plot on mapometer. The route is here

The MAC Cannon Hill

Nine out on a cold but dry (at last!) morning. Usual route via the canal to Cannon Hill and the MAC for a quick coffee to allow people to get back for the Christmas lunch at the Village Inn Cotteridge. The route is here

The Wave Earlswood

Today's ride was to the Wave at Earlswood Lakes. Flooded roads around Primrose Hill meant a detour and tiring climb up Gay Hill. Low sunshine made crossing certain roads quite difficult. Blustery wind on the return journey. Nine riders in total. The route is here

Maypole

6 Out on a sunny showery day used more main road to avoid known floods. The route is here

The Lounge Alvechurch

Yesterday's ride along a traditional route to and from Alvechurch was the annual December 'breakfast run'. A record number of 15 attended the meal. 13 cycled there while 2 met us at the Lounge. Again the staff at the café did us proud serving all the breakfasts in very quick time. Excellent value for money. It was nice to see John Bennett waving us off at Rowheath and meeting 'old time' member of group Rose at the café.

For a pleasant change the sun shone although it was still very chilly. Thanks to Sandra for getting everyone's meal orders before hand so the Lounge could get everything ready for us on arrival. The route is here

I don't know whether you can put the attached photos on the blog as well courtesy of Jane.
